Trifolium albopurpureum is a species of the genus clover ( Trifolium ). He is placed in the genus in the section Lotoidea , subsection Neolagopus .

description

Trifolium albopurpureum is an annual , herbaceous plant that reaches heights of between 15 and 45 centimeters. The stem axis stands upright and branches dichotomously in the upper part .

The lower leaves are long stalked, the upper shorter. The leaves are dreifedrig, the individual pinna between 1.5 and 2.5 inches long and 0.8 to 1.5 inches wide. The blades are inversely egg-shaped to elongated inversely egg-shaped, narrowing towards the base. The leaf margin is finely indented. The tip rounded or notched. The stipules are between 0.8 and 1.5 inches long. They are egg-shaped with a triangular tip. The longer part is free, the shorter is fused with the stem axis.

The inflorescences are long stalked and 1.5 to 2 inches high and between 1.3 and 1.5 inches wide. They are broadly ovate to almost spherical and consist of many, densely packed individual flowers .

The calyx is 0.9 to 1.5 inches long and is hairy long. It is tubular in the lower 2 millimeters and 20 to 30 annoying. The calyx teeth are 3 to 6 times longer than the calyx tube, hairy and narrowly pointed. The crown is 0.4 to 0.6 inches long and purple. The flag is elongated to ovoid with a rounded tip. The pollen is almost spherical.

The legumes are about 3 millimeters long, single-seeded, broadly elliptical and hairy scattered. The seeds are more than 2 millimeters in diameter and are yellow in color. The surface is shiny.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

distribution

The distribution area of Trifolium albopurpureum is in North America. It begins in northern Mexico and extends through Arizona, California and Oregon to southern British Columbia.

Trifolium albopurpureum grows on hills and in valleys at altitudes of up to 300 meters.
