Trimethoxyboroxine is a chemical compound from the boroxine group .
Extraction and presentation
Trimethoxyboroxine can be obtained by reacting boron trioxide with boric acid trimethyl ester .
In this way, the compound was first synthesized in 1951 by Goubeau and Keller. The compound can also be prepared by reacting boron trioxide with a mixture of trimethyl borate and methanol.

use
Trimethoxyboroxine can be used as an intermediate in the manufacture of other chemical compounds (for example dimethoxyborane ). It is also used as a fire extinguishing substance on burning metals.
