Trinidad Silva

Trinidad Silva (born January 30, 1950 in Mission , Texas , † July 31, 1988 in Whittier , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Silva began his career in 1977 with a guest role on the television series Baretta . After a few other guest roles and small feature film appearances, such as in Wealth Isn't Shame , he received the recurring role of gang member Jesus Martinez in the series Hill Street Police Station in 1981 , which he played in 26 episodes until 1987. In the late 1980s, he also had a few major film roles. In Colors he played Leo “Frog” Lopez alongside Sean Penn , Robert Duvall and Don Cheadle . In A Crazy Journey Through the Night , he appeared as Tito alongside Keanu Reeves .

During the filming of the weird Al Yankovic comedy UHF - Broadcasters with limited hope , Silva was killed in a traffic accident caused by a drunk driver. His wife and son were slightly injured. The film, in which Silva should have played a bigger role, was then partially rewritten and the credits dedicated to his memory.
