The Trio Image (mainly spelled Trio Imàge ) is a piano trio based in Germany . The ensemble attracted international attention by winning the Echo Klassik 2014.

history

The ensemble was founded in 2000 by Gergana Gergova , Saerom Park and Pavlin Nechev , students of the Folkwang University of the Arts . Thomas Kaufmann has been the trio's cellist since the end of 2007. The trio studied with Andreas Reiner at the Folkwang University of the Arts and with Eberhard Feltz at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . Trio Imàge worked within the framework of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) with renowned musicians such as Hatto Beyerle , Anner Bylsma and Shmuel Ashkenasi . The trio was also musically influenced by Heinrich Schiff , Arnold Steinhard , Ferenc Rados and Menahem Pressler . Trio Imàge is u. a. Winner and winner of the audience award at the 6th international competition "Franz Schubert and Modern Music" in Graz , winner of the Folkwang Prize and winner of the Commerzbank Chamber Music Competition and the "Joseph Joachim Competition" in Weimar . International appearances have taken the trio to the Chelsea Music Festival New York, the November Fest Chennai, the Festival de Mexico and to Venezuela, Chile and Australia. In Europe the trio has given concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic and at the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival .

repertoire

The repertoire of the Trio Imàge ranges from classical music to the present day, especially in the area of Mauricio Kagel's piano trios . In addition, Trio Imàge u. a. Works by Marek Diakov and Alois Kott premiered.
