Vinoř (German Winor ) is a cadastral municipality and a district ( Praha-Vinoř ) on the northeastern edge of the Czech capital Prague and belongs to the administrative district Prague 19 ( Kbely ).
history
Vinoř was first mentioned in 1088 in a document from King Vratislav II .
Attractions
- The Vinoř Castle was built by František Maxmilián Kaňka , the court architect of the Černín family .
- The Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, originally a Romanesque building, was also renovated in Baroque style by Kaňka in the years 1727–1728. On the square in front of the church there is a statue of St. John of Nepomuk by Ignaz Franz Platzer (1755). In 1948, a group of resistance fighters against the communist takeover met in the rectory: Milada Horáková , Josef Nestával, Zdeněk Peška, Vojta Beneš and Augustin Holík.
