Praha-Suchdol ( German  Prag-Sukdol ) is a district of the Czech capital Prague . It is located seven kilometers northwest of the center of Prague and belongs to the 6th district .

geography

Praha-Suchdol is located on the left side of the Vltava on the Prague plateau ( Pražská plošina ) between the valleys of the Lysolajský potok and Únětický potok. State road II / 241 runs through Praha-Suchdol from Prague to Statenice . The railway line Praha – Děčín runs along the banks of the Vltava , the next station is "Praha-Sedlec".

Neighboring communities are Roztoky in the north, Bohnice in the east, Praha 6 and Troja in the southeast, Lysolaje in the south, Horoměřice and Statenice in the west and Únětice in the northwest.

history

The Praha-Suchdol district was created in 1990 as part of the restructuring of the administrative districts in Prague . It originally comprised the districts Sedlec (incorporated in 1922) and Suchdol (incorporated in 1968). On January 1, 2005 Sedlec was divided, with the Dolní Sedlec part on the Vltava river with Sedlec and the industrial area A ( Sedlec-průmyslový obvod A ) added to the Prague 6 district. The industrial area B ( Sedlec-průmyslový obvod B ) to the west of the railway line and the Budovec settlement adjacent to the development of Suchdol remained near Praha-Suchdol . At the beginning of the 21st century, extensive housing developments emerged on the plateau south of the old village.

The campus of the Czech Agrarian University in Prague is located in Suchdol . In future, the Prague ring road R 1 will run through the district .

Local division

The district of Praha-Suchdol consists of the districts Sedlec ( Selz ) and Suchdol ( Sukdol ). It is divided into the nine settlement units Budovec, Nad Tichým údolím, Sedlec-průmyslový obvod B, Starý Suchdol, Suchdol-střed, Suchdol-Výhledy, Suchdol-západ, Tiché údolí and Vysoká škola zemaha-Kataster A. Suchdol (431 ha) and 81 ha from Sedlec.
