Tritea ( Greek Τριταία ( f. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the southwest of the newly created municipality Erymanthos in the region of western Greece on January 1, 2011 . It is named after the Achaean city of Tritaia (Τριταία or Τρίτεια).

location

The municipality of Tritea is located in the northwest of the Peloponnese , on the northwestern foothills of the Erymanthos . Bordered to the north Farres and in the northwest Dytiki Achaia . The municipality of Kalentzi is almost completely enclosed in the east . In the south, the Pinios forms the border with the communities of Ilida and Archea Olymbia .

Administrative division

On the occasion of the territorial reform in 1997 , the municipality of Tritea was founded from the amalgamation of 14 rural communities, with the administrative seat in Stavrodromi. As part of the 2010 administrative reform , Tritea was merged with three other municipal districts to form the municipality of Erymanthos . The municipality of Tritea is divided into 14 local communities, these correspond to the rural communities before the territorial reform of 1997.

In 1981 Tritea still had 5051 inhabitants. That number rose by 411 to 5,462 by 2001.
