The Trithemistinae are a subfamily of libellulidae (Libellulidae) within the vial .

features

The summarizing feature of the Trithemistinae, by which they are differentiated from the representatives of other subfamilies, is a shift of the nodus on the wing towards the wing tip. This significantly shortens the apical parts of the wings. Other characteristic features have not yet been described.

Systematics

The eponymous type genus is the genus Trithemis with the violet sun pointer ( Trithemis annulata ), which is widespread in North Africa, West Asia and partly also in southern Europe, as the best known species. It contains the following genera:
