Trix Heberlein-Ruff (born July 17, 1942 in St. Gallen ; resident in Wattwil and Zumikon ) is a Swiss lawyer and politician ( FDP ).

biography

Trix Heberlein attended primary school in Teufen , then the cantonal school in St. Gallen , which she graduated with the Matura in 1961 . She then studied law at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1965 with a licentiate. Later she passed the bar exam.

From 1979 to 1991 Trix Heberlein was a member of the Cantonal Council of the Canton of Zurich . From 1985 to 1994 she was a councilor in Zumikon, where she lived. From 1991 to 2003 she was a national councilor . In 1999 she chaired the National Council. From 2003 to 2007 she represented the Canton of Zurich in the Council of States . On December 20, 2006, she announced her resignation at the end of the legislative period .

Trix Heberlein was President of the Swisstransplant Foundation from 1998 to 2014 , which promotes organ donation . She has been married to the lawyer Robert Heberlein since 1967 and they have two daughters.
