The Trophy European Pentathlon 1989 was the eleventh European pentathlon championship for national teams, mostly known under the name TEP. The tournament took place from September 21 to 24, 1989 in Nykøbing Falster on the Danish island of Falster .

history

After five years an organizer for the TEP tournament was found again. In the Danish Nykøbing Falster , the sentence system was played for the first time, which significantly lowered the averages of the games. Most of the participants did not agree with this system. Nevertheless, the successful teams of recent years were back at the top of the final table. After 15 years the Belgians won again over Germany. The surprise team this time was Spain, which was able to place ahead of Austria and the five-time winner Netherlands.
