The Trophy European Pentathlon 1984 was the tenth European pentathlon championship for national teams, mostly known under the name TEP. The tournament took place from November 7th to 11th, 1984 in Amersfoort , the Netherlands .
history
After many good placements in the first nine TEP tournaments, the German team finally achieved the longed-for victory. In an exciting final, Dieter Wirtz achieved a 400: 288 win in three shots against Ad Koorevaar in the free game. The highlights of the final came from Klaus Hose and Dieter Müller . Klaus Hose managed a sensational game in Cadre 71/2 in one show of strength. In just one shot, he beat Dutch cadre specialist Hans Vultink 250: 7. The victory was then made clear by Dieter Müller from Berlin. After 11 shots, the Dutchman Rini van Bracht clearly led with 20: 4. Then you could experience Müller as an exemplary fighter. After 52 shots it was done and Müller was able to celebrate his acclaimed victory. His general average (GD) in the tournament of 1.131 meant a new German record. Thomas Wildförster also offered a class performance in the tournament . His GD of 36.75 was also a new German record in Cadre 47/1.
Tournament mode
It was played in two groups with four teams in the round robin system. The first two in each group qualified for the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners played the final, the losers played off third place. The third and fourth of the preliminary round groups played the places 5-8.
