Troy Brauntuch (* 1954 in Jersey City , New Jersey ) is an American photographer and draftsman .

life and work

Troy Brauntuch studied at the California Institute of the Arts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1975 . In the 1980s, Brauntuch was one of the earliest appropriation artists, working with Robert Longo and Cindy Sherman at South Street Seaport . Brauntuch is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin . He lives in Austin and New York City .

The photo-realistic images of Troy Brown Cloth are large and dark and only recognizable when the viewer's eye has slowly adjusted . Balcony / Balkon (1984) is drawn in ink and pastel on linen. Bag with Garbage (1, 2 and 3) from 2009 is a series drawn on cotton with Conté .
