Troy Stetina

Troy Stetina (born November 16, 1963 ) is an American guitar teacher who has published about 35 guitar textbooks, CDs and videos as well as three solo CDs.

He was initially head of the rock guitar studies at the Conservatory of Wisconsin and author for the magazine GuitarOne and is now self-instruction.

As a teenager he developed an interest in hard rock titans of the late 1970s such as Rush , Led Zeppelin and KISS . He also studied Van Halen's lead guitar techniques . Shortly after his 18th birthday, Troy decided to study astrophysics in New Mexico , but soon saw his talent for teaching. In the late 1980s he published two very successful textbooks on heavy metal .

In the same year, the young virtuoso went to the Wisconsin Conservatory in Milwaukee . After becoming director of the rock guitar division, he left the school in the early 1990s to record and produce records. After recording three full albums and producing for other artists, he decided to spend more time with his wife, Shauna (Joan) Joyce, who also worked with him as a singer, and his two sons, Zack and Jeremy.

He is currently working (with Mark Tremonti from Alter Bridge ) on The Troy Stetina Project .
