Life

Trude Rosen made her debut as a stage actress in Germany, in 1928 in Meissen . Two years later she managed to move to Berlin , where she worked at the Volksbühne . There she was seen in Rochus Gliese's The Two Eagles and in a production of Shakespeare's Winter Tale . Also at the beginning of the 1930s Trude Rosen took part in small roles in movies.

The takeover of power by the National Socialists meant the end of all artistic activities of the Jewish actress. In 1934 Rosen fled to Czechoslovakia , where she performed at the local theater in Mährisch-Ostrau . Trude Rosen escaped to the USA via England in 1937. In New York City she was used in Yiddish-language plays, in December 1938 she made her debut on Broadway , now as Gerta Rozan , where she could be seen in the play Window Shopping . When she moved to Hollywood in the early 1940s, Gerta Rozan also appeared in a few movies in which she received tiny roles. When her already tiny scene was to be cut out of the film So Ends Our Night in 1941 , Gerta Rozan began a protest march that stretched over several days, during which she took off a new item of clothing every day.

In 1948 she returned to Broadway and appeared in Grandma's Diary , a performance by the American Theater Group. Nothing is known about her further career.
