The Tschawdar Peninsula ( Bulgarian полуостров Чавдар poluostrow Tschawdar ) is a 13 km long and 10 km wide peninsula on the west coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It protrudes northwest into Gerlache Strait and separates Curtiss Bay in the northeast from Hughes Bay in the southwest. Its western extension is Cape Sterneck between the Danco and Davis coasts .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2009 after the Bulgarian rebel leader Chavdar Wojwoda from the 16th century .
