Tschernjachiw ( Ukrainian Черняхів ; Russian Черняхов Tschernjachow ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev with about 1300 inhabitants (2006).
The Chernyakhov culture , a culture that existed in Eastern Europe from the end of the 3rd to the beginning of the 5th century AD, is named after the village, which was founded in the 11th century , after the archaeologist Wikentij Chwoika near the end of the 19th century Village made finds from this culture.
Chernyakhiv is the only village in the 47.89 km² district council of the same name in the north of Kaharlyk Rajon . The village is 22 km north of the Kaharlyk Rajon center between the Dnepr , which is dammed up to the Kaniv reservoir , in the east and the N 01 highway in the west.
