Tschortowez ( Ukrainian Чортовець ; Russian Чертовец Tschertowez , Polish Czortowiec ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 3000 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1479 (another source after 1446), was called Nazarenkowe ( Назаренкове ) between 1977 and 1993 . Tschortowez is the only village of the same name, 47.628 km² large district council in the west of Horodenka Rajon .
The village is located in the east of the historical Galicia 18 km west of the Horodenka district center and 63 km southeast of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast center .
