Tsungming Tu Prize

The Tsungming Tu Prize is a Taiwanese science award .

The Tsungming Tu Prize is awarded to German scientists by the National Science Councils (國家 科學 委員會) in Taiwan (Republic of China) and is the highest academic honor for foreigners in Taiwan. The award, which was first awarded in 2007, is awarded annually to a maximum of three people for extraordinary merits or discoveries in a research area and is endowed with prize money of between 50,000 and 100,000 US dollars. It is named after the Taiwanese doctor Tsungming Tu (杜聰明; 1893–1986). The NSC's partner organization for the award is the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation . Conversely, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards the Humboldt Research Prize to up to three researchers from Taiwan each year .
