Detective agency with witchcraft (original title: Tucker's Witch ) is an American crime series that was produced between 1982 and 1983 for the US broadcaster CBS .
action
The married couple Rick and Amanda Tucker run a private investigation agency in Laurel Canyon . With the help of their secretary, Marcia Fulbright, they often work with the local police force in the person of Lieutenant Sean Fisk. What sets the detective agency apart from its competitors and the police are the clairvoyant skills of Amanda, who is a witch . The Tuckers' household includes Amanda's mother, Ellen, and the house cat, Dickens, who acts as Amanda's medium . The series draws its comedy from the contrast between Rick's thorough approach as an investigator and the sometimes unreliable visions of Amanda.
background
The pilot episode of the series was created under the working title The Good Witch of Laurel Canyon with Art Hindle and Kim Cattrall in the lead roles. However, this was never broadcast. After the replacement, the series title was changed. In the twelve episodes produced, Barry Corbin , Ted Danson , Joe Penny and Noble Willingham had guest appearances.
It was first broadcast in Germany on Sat.1 in 1990 , but only eight of the twelve episodes were shown on the previous evening. In the following year, the episodes already broadcast on Sat.1 were repeated on ProSieben and two additional episodes were broadcast.
