Catherine Mary Hicks (born August 6, 1951 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life

Hicks was born in New York City to Jackie, a housewife, and Walter Hicks, an electronics salesman. After studying theology at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend , Indiana , Hicks became an actress. From 1996 to 2007 she starred in the television series A Heavenly Family . Her first marriage was to the author Jeff Silverman. In 1988 she met her current partner, special artist Kevin Yagher , on the set of the film Chucky . They married on May 19, 1990 and have a daughter, Caitlin (* 1992). The family lives in Bel Air .

Awards

For her supporting role in Star Trek IV , Hicks was nominated for a Saturn Award in 1987 . She received the award in 1990 for her role in Chucky . In 1988, Hicks received the Global 500 Award .

Along with her series husband Stephen Collins ( A Heavenly Family ), Hicks was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in the Parental Unit category in both 2005 and 2006 .
