Gündüz Tunçbilek

Gündüz Tunçbilek (born August 22, 1926 in Kırşehir ; † 2007 ) was a Turkish ambassador .

Life

In 1945 he gained at Galatasaray High School , the High School and studied political science at the University of Ankara . From 1950 to 1951 he was a reserve officer in the Turkish Armed Forces . In 1951 he joined the foreign service and became third class legation secretary. In 1953 he was at the consulate general in Hamburg, 1957 second / first class legation secretary in Taipei , 1961 in the politics department, 1963 to 1966 second / first class legation secretary in Stockholm and from May 29, 1967 to December 3, 1969, consul general in Munich.

From 1970 he headed the department of economic aid for Turkish Cypriots, 1974 military intervention of the Turkish armed forces in the Cyprus conflict . Tunçbilek was described by the US President's authorities as affable and benevolent towards the United States and certified that his information regarding official secrets was limited to public relations .

His appointment as ambassador was published in the November 9, 1976 issue of the Resmî Gazete . From October 11, 1976 to September 1, 1981 he was ambassador to Kuala Lumpur . On June 4, 1981, he signed a trade agreement with the Egyptian government in Cairo on behalf of the Foreign Minister . From 1985 to 1989 he was ambassador to Buenos Aires .

Gündüz Tunçbilek was married to Sevim and they had two children. He spoke French, English and German.
