The Füllbach tunnel is a 1,113 meter long tunnel near Coburg. As part of the Niederfüllbach connecting curve, it lies between the route kilometers 0.418 and 1.531. The structure serves to connect Coburg to the new Ebensfeld – Erfurt line .
It is located in the Coburg district and the Lichtenfels district .
course
The tunnel passes under the Höhnberg, south of Grub am Forst, with a maximum overburden of 45 meters. It also passes under the Höhnberg tunnel with the high-speed route. The mountain fortress between the two tunnels is 16 meters.
To the north, the line joins the Coburg-Lichtenfels railway line after a road overpass . To the south, after the Niederfüllbach junction, where the track joins the high-speed line, the Weißenbrunn am Forst valley bridge follows .
Following the high-speed line, the tunnel initially runs in a short straight line. At the level of the south portal of the neighboring Höhnberg tunnel, the structure goes over to the north portal in a left arc of 1000 m radius and 100 mm superelevation .
history
planning
The Füllbach tunnel, together with the Höhnberg tunnel and the Füllbachtal bridge, is part of the nearly two-kilometer-long construction section Füllbachtalbrücke / Coburg Süd connection.
The structure was an essential part of the plan approval section 1.1 of the project.
construction
The tunnel was inaugurated as the penultimate of the 25 tunnel 26 July 2011 struck . The tunnel sponsor was Barbara Daumiller-Zeil, wife of the Bavarian Minister of Economics, Martin Zeil . The planned investment was (as of 2011) around 25 million euros. The tunnel breakthrough at the north portal was on May 28, 2012. The official celebration followed on June 21, 2012. The inner tunnel shell was made from the north portal towards the south portal.
The tube was built using mining techniques from south to north. This resulted in around 127,000 m³ of excavated material, which was stored on the Pfarr landfill ( 50 ° 13 ′ 6 ″ N , 11 ° 0 ′ 21 ″ E ) above the northern end of the tunnel. The tunnel has an emergency exit via a shaft structure at route kilometers 0.648 near the south portal. The tunnel has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 29 per thousand and should be passable at 130 km / h. The approval took place in December 2017, together with the new line.
