Tupper Lake is a village in Franklin County . In 2010 the Village of Tupper Lake had 3,667 residents. The name of the Village and Town of Tupper Lake is derived from the lake of the same name , which in turn owes its name to the surveyor Ansel Norton Tupper, who drowned in it while fishing. The Town and Village of Tupper Lake are in the southwestern part of Franklin County.

The village was first settled around 1844 and logging contributed to Tupper Lakes' growth. Initially, Tupper Lake consisted of two parts, Tupper Lake itself and Faust. In 1899, 169 buildings burned down in a fire, two thirds of which were residential buildings.

According to the data of the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 4.6 km² without any significant body of water lying within the incorporated area.
New York State Route 3 runs into the village from the north and New York State Route 30 from the south; they lead in a common route eastwards out of the village towards Upper Saranac Lake .
The Raquette River drains the lake south of the village and meanders to the east. Via it, the village belongs to the catchment area of the St. Lawrence River .
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Tupper Lake lived in 3935 people. The population density was 853.5 people per km ². There were 1,839 housing units at an average of 398.9 per km ². The population Tupper Lakes consisted of 97.89% of White , 0.76% Black or African American , 0.30% Native American , 0.05% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0.10% said other races to belong and 0.89% named two or more races. 0.51% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of Tupper Lakes were distributed to 1,684 households out of which 31.2% were living in children under 18 years of age. 40.1% of households were married, 13.8% had a female head of the household without a husband and 41.3% were not families. 34.0% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 17.9% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.97.
The population was divided into 26.5% minors, 7.7% 18–24 year olds, 28.9% 25–44 year olds, 19.8% 45–64 year olds and 17.1% aged 65 and over or more. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 women there were 95.0 men. For every 100 women over 18, there were 88.1 men.
