Turi Vasile
Turi Vasile (born March 22, 1922 in Messina , † September 1, 2009 in Rome ) was an Italian film producer, screenwriter and film director.
Life
Vasile started as a writer and theater director in the 1940s. From 1950 he worked primarily as a producer and writer for the cinema. Between 1956 and 1960 he directed seven films. The best known are Die Schuldigen (I colpevoli) from 1957 and Gambe d'oro from 1958.
As a producer he has worked with the most important Italian directors. Among others with Michelangelo Antonioni , Federico Fellini , Enrico Maria Salerno and Franco Brusati .
In the 1990s he mainly worked as a producer for television. He also wrote several literary works and received several awards for them. He was also president of the l'Istituto Nazionale per il Dramma Antico .
