Turid Arndt (born March 4, 1981 in Schwedt / Oder ) is a former German handball goalie .
Career
In the club
Arndt started playing handball at SSV PCK Schwedt and switched to the Frankfurt Handball Club at the age of 16 , where she started playing regularly in the Bundesliga in her first year .
In 2000 she signed a contract with DJK / MJC Trier , with which she became German champion in 2003. The 1.80 m tall goalkeeper then saw no sporting prospects in Trier alongside Alexandra Gräfer and Daniela Vogt and joined HSG Blomberg-Lippe , from where she moved to the second division SVG Celle a year later . There she played until the 2008/09 season, in which the SVG Celle was champion of the 2nd Bundesliga North and achieved promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. Even before the promotion it was clear that after the 2008/09 season she would move to SC Markranstädt, who was playing in the 2nd Bundesliga South at the time. However, after SC Markranstädt missed the promotion to the 1st Bundesliga, which they had hoped for, the club filed for bankruptcy. The change failed and Turid Arndt moved to SG Handball Rosengarten for the 2009/10 season . There she also won the championship of the 2nd Bundesliga North and celebrated promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. In the summer of 2014 she returned to Celle after 5 years and ended her active career there on May 14, 2016.
In the national team
Turid Arndt has completed seven senior international matches and was on the squad for the 1999 World Cup , which took place in Denmark and Norway. In addition to the German Championship in 2003, she won bronze at the European Youth Championship in Germany in summer 1999 and silver at the World Junior Championship in Hungary in 2001 .
