Turiec (German Turz , Hungarian Turóc ) is a river in central Slovakia .
It flows in northern central Slovakia. It rises in the Kremnica Mountains (Slovak Kremnické vrchy , part of the Great Fatra - Velka Fatra ) in the village Horný Turček (since 1951 the district of Turček ) and then flows to the north, past the towns of Turčianske Teplice and Martin and flows Vrútky in the scales . Its length is 66.3 kilometers.
