Turkmen Mi-8 on the occasion of the Independence Day parade

The Turkmen Air Force is the air power of the armed forces of Turkmenistan .

structure

The 3,000 strong air force is divided into two fighter bomber regiments ( Su-25 ), the 67th interceptor regiment ( MiG-29 ) and the 47th mixed relay ( An-24 , Mi-8 , Mi-24 ).

As on-board weapons are air-to-air missiles the weapon systems Vympel R-3 , R-23 , R-60 , R-27 , R-73 , air-ground missiles the weapon systems Ch-23 , Ch-28 , Ch-25 , Ch-25P , Ch-29 and anti-tank missiles of the 9K11 Malyutka weapon system were used.

Air defense

The Turkmen Air Defense has 50 FlaRak weapons at its disposal. These are the S-75 mobile weapon system and the S-125 Neva and S-200 stationary weapon systems .
