The Turkul ( Ukrainian and Russian Туркул , Polish Turkuł ) is a 1933  m high mountain on the main ridge of the " Black Mountains ", the highest mountain range of the Forest Carpathians in Ukraine . It is a popular destination for mountain tourism.

The mountain lies between the 1848  m high Danzer (Ukrainian Данцер ) in the north and the 2001  m high Rebra in the southeast on the border of the Zakarpattia Oblast and the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast . The Turkul has a triangular shape and is characterized by evergreen junipers , mountain pines and toothed rocks.

Neystovo Lake and Turkul Peak

At 1750  m above sea level lies the Neystovo Lake (Ukrainian Неистового озера Neystowoho osera ), one of the highest lakes in Ukraine. The mountain lake has a length of 88 m, a width of 45 m and is 1.5 m deep.

The closest localities are the village of Hoverla in the Zakarpattia Oblast and the village of Bystrez (Ukrainian Бистрець ) in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
