Mándok is a Hungarian town in the county Záhony in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County .

Geographical location

Mándok is located in northern Hungary , a good nine kilometers south of the city of Záhony . Neighboring communities are Tiszamogyorós , Eperjeske , Tuzsér and Mezőladány .

history

Mándok was mentioned in writing as early as the 14th century. At the beginning of the 20th century there was a trade school , distillery , steam mill and stud farm in the village . From 1876 to 1950 the place was the administrative seat of the Tisza district ( Tiszai járás ). In 2007 the former municipality received city rights.
