The district of Záhony (Hungarian Záhonyi járás ) is a district in the north of the northeast Hungarian county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg . It borders Vásárosnamény County in the east , Kisvárda County in the south and Cigand County in the west ( Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County ). Six municipalities in the north are on the state border with Slovakia and Ukraine , with the district town having both as neighbors.

history

The district emerged unchanged for the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013 with all 11 municipalities from the small area of the same name (Hungarian Záhonyi kistérség ).
