Záhony small area

The small area Záhony ( Hungarian Záhonyi kistérség ) in the north of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in the Northern Great Plain was created in 2007 by dividing the small area Kisvárda . It bordered Ukraine to the north and northeast . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, all 11 localities were taken over in the subsequent district of Záhony (Hungarian Záhony járás ).

At the end of 2012, 19,369 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​145.95 km². The population density of the smallest small area was with 133 inhabitants / km² after the small area Nyíregyháza the second highest in the county.

The administrative seat was in the city of Záhony (4.125 Ew.), The city of Mándok was somewhat larger with 4,247 inhabitants. Tuzsér , the only large municipality (Hungarian nagyközség ) housed 3,418 inhabitants. This and the remaining nine municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average population of 1,222 inhabitants (each covering an area of ​​12.23 km²).
