Fehérgyarmat small area

The small area Fehérgyarmat ( Hungarian Fehérgyarmati kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . It was the easternmost small area in Hungary and with 49 villages it had the most for a small area within the county. In the course of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013, all localities were transferred to the following district of Fehérgyarmat (Hungarian Fehérgyarmati járás ), which was expanded to include the municipality of Tivadar from the small area Vásárosnamény .

At the end of 2012, 38,196 people lived in an area of ​​702.57 km². The population density of 54 inhabitants / km² was half that of the entire county.

The administrative seat was in the only town Fehérgyarmat (7,967). The two large communities (Hungarian nagyközség ) Kölcse and Tiszabecs had over 1,000 inhabitants. This and the other 46 municipalities (Hungarian közseg ) had an average of 630 inhabitants (on an area of ​​13.54 km²).
