Ibrány-Nagyhalász small area

The small area Ibrány-Nagyhalász ( Hungarian Ibrány – Nagyhalászi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the northwest of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . It bordered Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County in the north . In the course of the administrative reform, the small area was divided into the following district Ibrány (Hungarian Ibrány járás ) (8 villages with 23,850 inhabitants) and the newly created district Kemecse (Hungarian Kemecsei járás ) (9 villages with 20,242 inhabitants).

At the end of 2012, 44,092 people lived in an area of ​​520.97 km². The population density of 85 inhabitants / km² was just below that of the county.

The administrative seat was in the city of Ibrány (6.835 Ew.). The town charter also had Nagyhalász (5,741 inhabitants), Kemecse (4,792 inhabitants) and Demecser (4,284 inhabitants). The only large municipality (Hungarian nagyközség ) Gávavencsellő had 35.28 inhabitants. This and the 13 other municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average of 1,726 inhabitants (each on an area of ​​26.18 km²).
