Vásárosnamény small area

The small area Vásárosnamény ( Hungarian Vásárosnaményi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the northeast of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . At the beginning of January 2013, in the course of the administrative reform, 26 of the 27 localities were transferred to the district of Vásárosnamény (Hungarian Vásárosnaményi járás ), the town of Tivadar moved to the district of Fehérgyarmat . At the same time, the Vásárosnamény district was expanded to include two localities from the Baktalórántháza small area .

At the end of 2012, 30,516 people lived in an area of ​​567.25 km². The population density of 54 inhabitants / km² was half that of the entire county.

The administrative seat was in the only city Vásárosnamény (8,831 Ew.). The second largest town was the municipality (Hungarian nagyközség ) Tarpa with 2,164 inhabitants. This and the remaining 25 municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average of 834 inhabitants (on an area of ​​19.20 km²).
