Kisvárda small area
The small area Kisvárda ( Hungarian Kisvárdai kistérség ) was an administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the northwest of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, all 21 localities were transferred to the following district of Kisvárda (Hungarian: Kisvárdai járás ), which was also expanded by two communities from the small area of Baktalórántháza to the south .
At the end of 2012, 52,616 people lived in an area of 443.71 km². The population density was 118 inhabitants / km², the third highest in the county.
The administrative seat was in the city of Kisvárda (16,888 Ew.). Dombrád ( 4.070 Ew.) Also had the town charter . The large municipality (Hungarian nagyközség ) Ajak (3.785 Ew.) In July 2013 received city rights. This and the other 18 municipalities ( község in Hungarian ) had an average population of 1,666 (over an area of 18.73 km² each).
