Nyíregyháza small area

The small area Nyíregyháza ( Hungarian Nyíregyházai kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform, all 9 localities changed to the successor district Nyíregyháza (Hungarian Nyíregyháza járás ) at the beginning of 2013 , which was reinforced by 6 localities from the small areas of Tiszavasvári (4) and Nagykálló and Baktalórántháza (1 village each).

At the end of 2012, 143,371 people lived in an area of ​​539.30 km². The population density of the most populated small area was two and a half times the county average.

The administrative seat was in the city of Nyíregyháza (118.185 Ew.), Which was equal to a county (Hungarian Megyei jogú város ). Nyírtelek (6730) also had town charter. 7 rural communities (villages, in Hungarian Község ) had an average population of 2,637 (each on an area of ​​28.12 km²).
