The Ibrány district (Hungarian Ibrányi járás ) is a district in the north-west of the north-east Hungarian Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County . It borders the Nyíregyháza district to the west and south, and the Kisvárda and Kemecse districts to the east . Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county forms the border in the north .

history

During the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, the district emerged from 8 of the 17 municipalities of its predecessor, the small area Ibrány-Nagyhalász (Hungarian Ibrány-Nagyhalászi kistérség ). The other 9 municipalities (41.5% of the area and 45.9% of the population of the small area) ended up in the southeastern Kemecse district .
