The district of Mátészalka (Hungarian Mátészalkai járás ) is a district in the southeast of the northeast Hungarian county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg . It borders the Nyírbátor , Baktalórántháza , Vásárosnamény , Fehérgyarmat and Csenger districts . In the south, three municipalities form the border with Romania .

history

During the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, the district emerged unchanged with all 26 municipalities from its predecessor, the small area of the same name (Hungarian Mátészalkai kistérség ).
