Tournament sheep head

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tournament Schafkopf (also: Preisschafkopf , Schafkopfrennen ) is an organized form of the Schafkopf card game , in which several players compete against each other.

Legal

According to § 284 StGB , Schafkopf does not constitute a game of chance due to the fact that all cards are dealt and is therefore legally harmless. The organization of sheep's head tournaments is regulated by trade law, in particular §33d GewO (authorization requirement) and §5a SpielV . A basic distinction must be made here between

  • Commercial events with the intention of making a profit (subject to authorization according to §33d GewO)
  • non-commercial events without profit intent (not subject to authorization)

In the latter case, the entry fee should not exceed € 15 and the profit should be distributed in goods; As an amusement event, Schafkopf tournaments are also subject to a notification requirement in accordance with Art. 19 Bayer. LStVG (competent authorities are the district administration units or the municipalities).

Rule features

  • At major tournaments rather than stand out is often remixed , d. H. the withdrawer shuffles the cards again
  • Instead of 2 × 4, 4 × 2 is often given
  • Instead of being thrown together , the must-play game is usually played . Other options are the Kreuzbock or the junk .
  • Often one also finds the so-called repentance money (also: Weitergeld ), a form of the stick ; For a game that is thrown together, each player pays a certain amount into a pot, which is paid out separately at the end of the tournament. The thrown together game is documented with the help of a line on the score list, then the same dealer gives again.
  • Another form of forfeit money is that the playmaker has to pay a separate obolus into the stock after losing games (especially solos). Part of this regret can also be paid out directly to the best at the table.

With the tournament sheep head, the games won / lost are entered in a list in the form of points; Usually a smaller amount of money also changes hands, with the point corresponding to a certain tariff. In scoring, either plus / minus (i.e. both wins and losses are documented) or just plus (i.e. only the points won are written).

Basically, the normal game counts 1 point and the solo game 2 (or 4) points. Furthermore counted Schneider and black each having a supplemental point. If a party has running , these also bring one additional point each; the possible number of runners can vary between four (only the upper ones) and 14 (all trump cards) depending on the regulations.

The rules for solo tailor and solo black may differ regionally; often the solo also has a uniform basic tariff, Schneider and Schwarz are not paid out. The runners are also rated differently in the solo, often not at all. The tariffs for the solo tout and you vary accordingly ; Schneider and Schwarz are not charged here, and the running ones often do not count or are charged at a flat rate.

Rounds and Prizes

In the tournament sheep head two (or more) drawn rounds with a fixed number of games (often 32 or 40) divisible by four are played. In major tournaments, elimination and final rounds follow. The winner (s) will receive staggered cash or material prizes financed from the entry fee, the (first) last will receive a consolation prize.

Table points

In large tournaments, the position of the respective player at the table is usually also evaluated (i.e. the first placed receives 40 additional points, the second placed 30, etc.). Often these table points are considerably more weighty than the actual game points.

Tournament series and championships

In the absence of regular league operations, various series of tournaments have established themselves. The performance of the participants is recorded in ranking lists, the best players are then invited to a final tournament. One example is the Schafkopf Champions League of the German Schafkopfverein e. V. in Folmava / Vollmau.

Meanwhile some unofficial championship tournaments with different qualification modes have developed. The most important of these tournaments are probably the Bavarian Championship of the Schafkopf-Club Bayern e. V. and the (unofficial) world championship, which has been held every two years since 2001 .
