Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of South of Scotland , which was redesigned and renamed South Scotland as part of the constituency revision in 2011 . The constituency of Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale was abolished. Most of Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale went into the new constituency of Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale . Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale included areas of the Scottish Borders and Midlothian Council Areas and sent one MP. In the 2001 census survey, a total of 65,246 people lived within its borders.
