Tyler Mane (born October 23, 1966 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan ; born as Daryl Karolat ) is a Canadian actor and former wrestler . As a wrestler, he was also known by the names Big Sky and Nitron .
Career
Wrestling
The 2.03 m tall Mane began his wrestling career in 1989 in the WCW under the name Nitron . He then went to Puerto Rico and then to Japan . After his return to the USA he fought again for the WCW after a short interlude at the Global Wrestling Federation in 1993, this time as Big Sky and tag team partner of Kevin Nash . In 1996 he ended his career as a wrestler.
Acting
Mane changed his name to Tyler Mane and switched to acting. His first major film role was that of Sabretooth in the comic book adaptation X-Men (2000). In Wolfgang Petersen's film adaptation of Troy in 2004, he played the Greek hero Ajax at the side of Brad Pitt . In 2007 he took on his first leading role as Michael Myers in Halloween , a remake of the horror film classic Halloween - The Night of Horror from 1978, as well as in its sequel Halloween II (2009). He was also in small roles and as a stuntman in Halloween: H20 , Buffy - The Vampire Slayer and X-Men: The last stand in front of the camera.
He also made guest appearances on the series Party of Five (1999) and Monk (2006). 2011 Mane wrote the screenplay for the Independent - slasher Compound Fracture , in which he also played a starring role; alongside him, Derek Mears and Muse Watson also star in the film by A. J. Rickert Epstein. He also took on the role of Jeremiah Carver in the horror web series Chopper in 2011 .
