Tynelle Gumbs (* 27. September 1998 in Puerto Rico ) is a hammer thrower from the British Virgin Islands , also in the shot put and the discus throw and the javelin is launched.

Athletic career

Tynelle Gumbs gained her first international experience at the Pan American Junior Championships 2013 in Medellín , where she finished 13th in the discus throw with 30.82 m and 15th in the javelin throw with 33.80 m . In the following year she won the bronze medal in the discus throw at the CARIFTA Games in Fort-de-France with a width of 40.45 m and was fifth in the javelin throw and sixth in the shot put. The following year she finished sixth and two times seventh place at the Games in Basseterre . Then she reached at the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton with 43.80 m rank six with the discus. In 2016 she was fifth in the hammer throw at the U23 NACAC championships in San Salvador with 53.80 m and sixth in the discus throw with 47.51 m.

In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where she achieved seventh place in the hammer throw with a new national record of 60.97 m and finished ninth with the discus with a throw of 47.04 m. At the Central America and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla , she was fifth with the hammer and tenth in the discus throw. Then she was at the NACAC Championships in Toronto with 58.78 m fourth in the hammer throw.
