The Ramersdorf underground station is an underground junction in the Bonn Stadtbahn network . It is located at 425.9 km of the Siebengebirgsbahn and is the end point of the light rail line from the Südbrücke . The underground station is designed as an underground, three-track branch station.

history

The former above-ground Ramersdorf stop was moved underground in the early 1980s and, after a long construction period, opened as a three-track underground station on September 5, 1981. As early as September 10, 1981 - 5 days after opening - the station was so badly damaged by a railcar fire that only a single-track emergency operation was possible for another year. The outdoor facilities, including a park + ride car park, were created as part of the parliamentary and government district development measure .

construction

The underground station with the technical center located between Königswinterer Strasse ( L 193 ) and Oberkasseler Strasse is designed as an underground, three-track branch station. The line coming from the south bridge continues on two tracks to Oberkassel , while the directional tracks of the Siebengebirgsbahn in the direction of Beuel separate from each other. The south-facing track crosses the route from the south bridge in the tunnel and passes its own platform before it joins the continuous main tracks at the southern end of the stop. The north-facing track branches off to the north of the stop to Beuel, so that to this day light rail vehicles (lines 66 and 68) and low-floor trams (lines 62 and 65) share the edge of the platform, which makes barrier-free expansion very difficult. However, this is to be carried out from mid to late 2020.

business

The Siebengebirgsbahn runs from Beuel parallel to the Rhine at the foot of the Siebengebirge via Königswinter to Bad Honnef . The northern section to Oberkassel is used by tram line 62 every 10 minutes on weekdays. In Ramersdorf, the tram line 66 coming from the Südbrücke merges with the Siebengebirgsbahn, which it travels alone south of Oberkassel. Line 66 runs every 20 minutes. In rush hour traffic , line 66 between Ramersdorf and Königswinter Clemens-August-Straße will be compressed to a 10-minute cycle. On the nights before Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, line 66 operates at night every 30 minutes. In addition, there are individual trips on lines 65 and 68 to and from Ramersdorf.
