Friedrich Busmann

Friedrich Busmann (* 1943 in Göttingen ) is a German urban planner and architect.

Life

Busmann completed a degree in architecture and urban planning at the TH Aachen , which he graduated with a diploma in 1971. He then worked in independent planning offices until he moved to the planning office of the city of Bonn in 1974 . In 1977 he received his doctorate . In the Bonn City Planning Office, Busmann was responsible for coordinating urban development measures from 1977 to 1994 , including the parliamentary and government district (1974-2004) , which was of national importance and controlled by a joint committee from the federal, state and city authorities . After reunification , he initially worked for the city of Halle (Saale) in parallel to his duties in Bonn , which he ultimately served as an alderman and department head for planning and the environment from 1995 to 2002 at the instigation of the then mayor and former Bonn city director, Klaus Peter Rauen . He then settled in Bad Harzburg as a freelance urban planner . In September 2007 the city of Halle engaged him again to coordinate their project for the International Building Exhibition Urban Redevelopment 2010 .

Busmann is a member of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning . He was a member of the Commission for Structural Change in Housing in the New Federal States set up by the Federal Government in 2000 and chaired by the former Mayor of Leipzig, Hinrich Lehmann-Grube .
