The United Nations Observer Mission Uganda-Rwanda ( United Nations Observer Mission in Rwanda and Uganda , UNOMUR ) in Rwanda and Uganda was based on UN Resolution 846 of June 22, 1993 and was deployed from August 1993 to September 21, 1994.

The aim of the mandate was the deployment of military observers due to the conflict between the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) and the Rwandan government (see History of Rwanda: Civil War and Genocide ). The chief military observer at UNOMUR was Lieutenant General Roméo A. Dallaire from Canada , who from October 1993 was also given command of the UN troop contingent at UNAMIR .
