Udo Langhoff
Udo Langhoff (born July 11, 1912 in Hamburg ; † September 13, 1994 in Buchholz in the Nordheide ) was a German actor , television director and producer .
Life
Udo Langhoff received acting lessons from Gustav Knuth and from 1930 worked as an actor and director at the Hamburger Kammerspiele, among others . From 1934 to 1937 he had an engagement at the Theater Albert Premier in Paris. At this time he came into contact with the still young medium of television. In 1950 Langhoff was involved in the experimental program of the then Northwest German Broadcasting Corporation , in 1953 he commented on the 10-hour live broadcast of the coronation of Queen Elisabeth II. In 1958, he became director and organizer of the afternoon program on ARD . In this capacity, contributions for children and young people were particularly important to him; on his initiative, for example, productions of the Bad Segeberg Karl May Games were included in the program.
Langhoff's numerous productions also included the 28-part series Biblical History , which was depicted with stick puppets from the Wuppertal puppet shows. Udo Langhoff was married to the actress Marina Ried until her death .
