The Northern Waterthrush ( Parkesia noveboracensis , Syn. : Seiurus noveboracensis ), whether throttle Waldsänger is a small bird from the family of Waldsänger (Parulidae). Along with the stilt warbler ( Parkesia motacilla ), it is the second species in the genus Parkesia .

Riparian warblers have a body length of about thirteen to fourteen centimeters. In terms of appearance, the riparian forest warbler is easy to confuse with the related species of stilt warbler. A white to creamy line extends from the base of the beak over the eyes to the neck area, which is slightly shorter than that of the wood warbler. They have yellow underside plumage with brown lines on the chest and flanks and olive-brown upper side plumage.

Riparian warbler feed mainly on insects , small crustaceans , molluscs , small fish and occasionally on seeds.

The breeding areas are in the north of North America ( Alaska , Canada and the north of the USA ). They spend the winter in Central America and the West Indies . It is also a very rare guest in Western Europe .
