biography

Aminde is the son of the architecture professor Hans-Joachim Aminde from Stuttgart. He studied fine arts at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK) with Lothar Baumgarten and received his master's degree in 2004. He lives with the author Svenja Leiber , with whom he also works artistically.

Aminde's artistic practice discusses socially relevant issues using photography, drawing, video art and performance. In his performative work in particular, in dealing with different social groups, he creates images that repeatedly generate the desire for community building. In the participatory works, Aminde also reflects on his own position as an author, initiator and artist. Thus, in his “social machineries and complicity” (Aminde), questions about the relationship of the individual in relation to a community are necessarily addressed. At the Berlin Biennale 2006 he showed his film installation “Life is not a request concert”, in which he brings together the recordings of various street musicians, who each only play a single note, on twelve monitors to form a noisy orchestra. In the same year he was awarded the authors and producers prize of the Bremen Young Theater for “Street is street and no concept art” .
