Ulrich "Uli" Frommer (born January 15, 1950 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Frommer began playing football at TSG Söflingen , then the striker moved to 1. SSV Ulm in 1928 within Ulm . After graduating from high school , he went to Stuttgart to play with the Stuttgarter Kickers on the one hand and to begin studying engineering on the other . Until 1975 he played second class for the club, first in the Regionalliga Süd and after successfully qualifying in the 2nd Bundesliga South .
After completing his studies, Frommer left Stuttgart when he took up a job at the civil engineering department of the city of Neu-Ulm and moved to the then third division club FV Biberach . With the club he played in the Black Forest-Bodensee League for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, in the seasons 1975/76 and 1977/78 the team qualified as runner-up for the German amateur championship , but did not get over the first Round out. In the founding season 1978/79 Frommer went on the side of Robert Birner for the club in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg on the hunt for goals and contributed with 14 goals in 30 games to keep the league. Then he let the football career end at FV Illertissen .
Frommer rose to the position of head of office at the city of Neu-Ulm, where he was responsible for the public living space and transport department before he retired in 2015.
His son Nico Frommer was also a professional footballer who played in the Bundesliga and was appointed to the DFB's selection teams .
