Ulla Melchinger (* 1932 - May 15, 1969 ) was a German television announcer and actress .

Life

After the war , the Melchingers and their daughter Ulla settled in Kelheim near Regensburg . At the age of 16 Ulla went to Munich as a house daughter . She used her pocket money to pay for shorthand and typing lessons. She found a job in an American office. Then she became a house mannequin for a sportswear factory. She caught the eye of talent scouts for Bavarian radio at a fashion show . The combination of the grace and charm brought out here, her general virtues of modesty and hard work as well as the office skills and cosmopolitanism acquired in the previous profession was almost ideal for an announcer job, because it was not a filling job and therefore had to be supported with in-house office services. Their first announcement was that of the regional evening show , later broadcasts were added nationwide. She thus belonged to the tribe of the BR program spokespersons with Petra Schürmann , Carolin Reiber , Ruth Kappelsberger and Anneliese Fleyenschmidt .

Her entry into acting was a role in an educational film on photochemistry . How seriously she took it with her new career ambitions, how determined she was, is illustrated by the fact that she took acting classes alongside her professional duties. She got her first feature film role in the second part of the 08/15 series. The following two feature film roles did not help her, as they were even smaller than the ones in her debut.

The path she had taken turned out to be a dead end and she could obviously no longer turn back on the deserted path in the television business. On May 15, 1969, she threw herself in front of a train. She left her husband and child.
